"Question Your Reality"

The Mind Behind
Inkspitter Studio
Jessica is a classically trained artist, having received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She works as a full time professional artist currently based out of Huntsville, AL; and maintains a functional working studio where she creates her work and meets with students and clients. She regularly vends at Fine Art Festivals and yearly as a regular returning artist, vends at Panoply: one of the largest fine art festivals in the southern US. In 2024 Jessica was Panoply's featured poster artist and in 2025 she won a Merritt Award for outstanding talent and presentation for her body of artwork. Jessica travels for shows throughout the southern US and up the east coast. In North Alabama she is considered one of the most sought after Teaching Artists. She has had at one time as many as 18 private lesson students, some of whom take multiple lessons a week and others who have been her students for 5 or more years. Jessica helped bring Arts Integration to the schools in Madison County, AL and helped keep arts alive in the schools through online classes and instructional videos during the height of covid. She now not only teaches private lessons, but she does consultations and is a contracted teacher through the Huntsville Museum of Art.

Jessica believes her role as an artist is to foster community for those working to discover who they are, discover their abilities as artists and creatives, and those in need of healing. She works to create a safe environment for her students, her friends and her colleagues.

I Believe
"Reality is just the starting point, our imaginations are the rewrite."

I Believe
"Pain and imperfection are a resource, not an obstacle."
I Believe
"The creepy deserves compassion."
I Believe
"There is beauty to found in the weird, creepy, decayed & the scars."
I Believe
"The monstrous isn't evil, it's adaptive, enduring and misunderstood."

The Artistic Vision Of
Inkspitter Studio
Jessica is an Illustrator, Creature Creator, and World Builder. Working primarily in alcohol markers and ink-based media, working in both traditional and digital techniques to bring her world to life. Jessica's style is rooted in intricate line work—playing with bold contrasts, light, and texture—followed by deeply layered, vibrant colors using alcohol markers. Each piece is built with intention: line art and color, designed to stand independently, like twin versions of the same story.

Her work dives into the worlds of science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, macabre, goth, grunge, and punk. She draw from mental health experiences, music, nature, biology, and the mysteries of space to create rich visual narratives—ones that invite viewers to 'Question Their Reality' and reflect on how strange, beautiful, and fleeting life can be. Whether it's a strange creature, a warped environment, or a scene pulsing with detail, Jessica wants every piece to feel like a puzzle—something to get lost in, something that speaks to both emotion and intellect.
Her goal is to make art that sparks connection. To inspire conversation, provoke thought, and maybe even help someone feel a little more seen. Because in the end, 'Life is Weird, Life is Gross, Life is Creepy, Life is Bold, and Life Finds a Way—but it’s also worth exploring.'

"Life Is Creepy"

Art Education Practices OF
Inkspitter Studio
Jessica is a teaching artist—meaning her foundation as an educator is rooted in being a working professional in her specified field. Jessica bring real-world artistic expertise into classrooms, museums, private studios, and community spaces, bridging technical skill with creative exploration to help others grow as artists.
At the core of Jessica's teaching practice is a deep commitment to one-on-one mentorship. She specialize in private art lessons, guiding students through tailored, long-term learning paths built around their personal goals, interests, and artistic growth. Many of her students stay with her for years—some as long as seven or eight—and during that time, we don’t just develop technical skill; we build confidence, voice, and a lasting creative foundation.

Jessica's private lessons are fully individualized. Whether a student comes to me for human anatomy, animal and creature design, illustration and comics, advanced color theory, portfolio development, or digital translation of traditional drawing skills, she meets them exactly where they are. Jessica works side by side with each of her students. She keeps a sketchbook open with every student and draws everything she ask them to draw—not just to demonstrate techniques, but to model curiosity, problem-solving, and a lifelong commitment to growth. These lessons are technical, but flexible. Jessica will adapt in real time to what each student needs, and together her and her students develop a rhythm that allows them to truly evolve as artists and thinkers.

Jessica's role often expands beyond the technical. She serves as a mentor and guide, helping students navigate both artistic challenges and life challenges. Where we explore how art can be a tool for communication, emotional expression, and confidence-building. Through drawing, they learn more than just line and color—they learn how to trust themselves and see the world in new ways.

In addition to private lessons, Jessica teaches at the Huntsville Museum of Art and work extensively as a teaching artist in schools and community settings. She partners with schools and other education programs—often through grants and arts integration programs—to bring hands-on, interdisciplinary projects into classrooms that may not have had access to art instruction in years. She collaborates closely with teachers and educators to design creative experiences that support academic learning: using sculpture to explore plant and animal cells in science classes, teaching character design through mythology in literature units, and guiding entire grades through creating original comics presented at mini comic cons. Jessica's school-based projects are immersive and inclusive like having every student and teacher contribute to painting cinder blocks for an outdoor classroom or leading a community mural that stretches over half a mile. She also developed and distributed over 60 art video lessons using household items during the pandemic, ensuring creativity could continue at home when schools were closed. No matter the project is, Her goal is to make art accessible, meaningful, and deeply connected to the lives and learning of the students she serves.
