About the event
Sketch Hour is an art club for adults (18+). This art club is meant as a way for adult artists to hang out based upon similar artistic interests, get feedback on artwork they have have created, participate in monthly challenges, our group doodles, and discuss all sorts of nerdy things. This is a place for you to feel comfortable and be yourself with other adults with similar interests and values.
Sketch Hour is hosted by Inkspitter Studio's, Jessica Ann Nunno. She is the owner of Inkspitter Studio, a freelance illustrator a teaching artist and a storyteller by nature. This art club meets once a month at Inkspittter Studio (and has a Discord server with 24/7 access), Studio 1055 in Lowe Mil Arts & Entertainment in Huntsville, AL.
In order to attend a Sketch Hour in person meeting you must fill out an RSVP. The RSVP will ask for the club members name and email address. This is all that's required for the RSVP, it is necessary because there is limited room in the studio, so there is a cut off point and it helps Jessica keep track of club overall attendance.
Initially you will be asked to fill out a form with all of your contact information and it acts as a liability form/ hold harmless agreement. This only has to be filled out once, but it must be filled out to attend the first meeting.
The art club is diverse, all inclusive and non biased. All adults (18+) are welcomed no matter their personal beliefs. All that we ask is that we do not talk about our specific religious or politcal beliefs as well as mental health conditions (these things are personal and often private, it is understood that maybe you want to share these beliefs with others, however this is not the time or the place for it). This is something Jessica requires from all of her students in any class she teaches as well as club members and clients.
Attendees must bring their own sketchbook and supplies they wish to use while attending the club to work on prompts and other art challenges in. A new art challenge will be issued at every in persn meeting, with the past challenge being due. Supplies for the 6 foot long group illustration will be provided.
You must RSVP online to attend the monthly meeting. This ensures space for everyone who wants to attend, that the permission for has been filled out and that the event itself wil be held. If there are no RSVP's the monthly meeting will be canceled. All RSVP's are required by the Friday, the night before the monthly meeting.
The meeting is 2 hours long and starts at 6 PM. Atteneedes may arrive 5 minutes early this is when those attending will be let in. Arriving any early will disrupt the set up process and anything else Jessica may be taking care of in the studio or any break she is attempting to take. Attendees must be picked up or depart promptly when the meeting ends at 8 PM. It should be known that the meeting starts when Lowe Mill is open to the public. However the Mill closes at 7 PM which means the ouside doors will automatically lock. Jessica has keys to the entire building as well as the gates. So if when you leave the gates are locked let her know and she will come out and unlock them.
Jessica looks forwarding to hosting this meeting every month. And, as a reminder there is a 24/7 Discord Server available to the attendees/ members. There is an invite code for the Discord server available on the Art Club - Sketch Hour page on Jessica's website.
